The Boys are Crying...

This piece was written some time ago and came from a broken heart. I can remember some of the words I was told at the time. 'It was purely physical' and I never understood these words until I was older....

The boys are crying

I could hear all the boys crying when you left

broken hearts

I could feel that something inside them had gone

as you said your last goodbyes

as you moved on

and you said ‘It was only physical’

but it was always more than that

they gave more than that, they always did

could have been your looks, more your curls

more your smile, enveloping charm

but they would cry when you had gone

ring their mothers and tell them what they’d lost

They would long for what they had

and had for only that moment

that made it more than physical, that made it more than caring

that made it

broken heart…..
